Visi Jabon is located in the foot hills over-looking Lombok’s most pristine bay Selong Belanak. The immediate local community called Jabon is a serene rolling landscape of hills bordered by a large protected conservation area.
Selong Belanak is a 25min drive from the airport, which is a 25min flight from Bali. International flights are currently only provided from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, yet that is set to soon change with direct flights to Australia and Hong Kong expected within the next 2 years.
Jabon is a 5 min drive from the beach, via the public access road winding along the hills behind. However travel time will greatly improve with the Visi Jabon internal private road extension expected within the next 2 years and providing direct access 2mins to the beach.
Selong Belanak is a basin with large hills on every side. Jabon is the central hill range which faces due south and out to sea. They’re 100-200m above sea level and moderate to steeply sloping. Selong Belanak is the only bay in south Lombok with western sunset facing orientation.
We operate within a very simple agrarian community of farmers and fishermen. The local villagers practice a moderate Islamic faith and very supportive of tourism development in the area.
The roads into and around Selong Belanak were recently done and electricity poles installed everywhere. There are a few telecommunication towers providing 4G mobile reception, and high speed fiber optic lines are installed in specific areas such as Jabon.
Unlike Kuta Lombok, the real estate development trend in Selong Belanak is boutique and high end. There are no large 5 star hotels planned on the beachfront and no backpackers in the beach flats. The hills are comprised of small med-high end villa developments. The raw beauty of the bay coupled with the current development trend has projected Selong Belanak into a focal area for property investment in Lombok.
